Hi thats my frist time to post here ,

and i do think its a great site with good info  ..

and as for the frist thing i wanna aske if some one could help me with this scope , if its good or not and if its worth to buy :?: ......

http://www.horusvision.com/hv.cfm?pg=demogame

and if its not good , which do you think is the best one with in 1500-2000$, i don't have alot of money to buy more than that , i still need to get a new rifle...

BTW i am a new shooter and i am getting my very own SVD soon 8) , and i think after that i would like to get a Bolt-action which i think better than the SVD , i like the SVD but i do think that and Boltactio rifle could do better....

Next month i am going to my army uint and i am joining TF-777 ( not from the US ) ...

thanx MIL!

i do like the system seem very easy to use , MIL-dot is good too may be i would get both one fixed from US-optic and one from horus in 8.5/17 , the US-optic would be a backup and for long range and the horus for fast shooting .....

BTW , mil do you make your own rifles and if you do , can you make them in 7.62/54R  ......

Flanker,

Yes, I do build my own rifles

The 7.62x54R is an interesting question. I've never done it, and I know I chamber my barrels in it, the question comes with the rimmed case fitting/feeding in the remington bolts/extractors. If that is possible, then it will not be a problem.

MEL
 can you look into it , i mean if you can make in 7.62/54R , and if so would it work with the russin 7N1 and 7N14 load .... so i can get the best of this cal. and thats what the SVD use...

 and if so tell me how much would a rifle like that would cost , i like blot-action , more prone and all you need is one shot ( well for me more than one shot :) ...

Unfortunately, I think its more hassle then its worth. The case head diameter is weird which can be an extraction problem, and the rimmed cases will not function correctly in a remington magazine as far as I know.

MEL
 i thought the same thing .... the head of the round wouldn't fit like i thought we are talking about diffrent rounds ( nato and 54R ) , and i might be wrong but cos the 54R is longer might make some feeding jams alot unless you use long-action like the M24 SWS it wouldn't work well ...

 i think i might look into russin made SWS in 54R , there is not alot of them , not like the 7.62 nato round which i might say the most used round after the 7.62/39 AK round ( well its the AK-47 we are talking about here , has more fam than the wars it was fought with ) and you can get the 7.62/51 in diffrent loads ...

i only know like 2-3 ( and hard to get ) rounds that can be used with the SVD as a sniper grad round....

BTW- sharp shooter weapon ??

is it ?

these pic i got from military photos form!!!! they are saying these rifles are sniper rifles!!!!

:D :?: i think its just a scaled down SVD to take the ak round , what do you think????
