Well I love a good rant n rail, but lets not confuse our own personal hates for facts.

Fact is the so-called gun loving CONSERVATIVES have damaged American gun rights more than the bad ol liberals.

No offense to our Neighbors to the North and Down Under.... Our break with the Empire was a bit more violent. While I'll admit few on either side of the issue here in the State actually swore to support and defend the Constitution, we do have one that does spell out rights I believe ya'll dont have.

Different heritages breed different results, maybe oneday the USofA will be like the other former colonies of Mother England...

But inspite all the whining and fearmongering, that wont be today...

The price of freedom is eternal vigulance, but only if the men on the rampart of freedom have cajones... and a slightly better grasp of who ALL wants a more submissive society...

???

Seriously man, you have a rose colored glasses view of your party. Look at CA, IL, NY, MI, all these stalwart blue states, and the laws their representatives write and sponsor both in their own states and the nations capital.

Gun control is a near fundamental requirement for liberal politicians. THAT is verfiable by voting records and their own claims.

(Rahm Emanuel, chief of staff now, and his extremist position).

UPDATE

http://www.ontheissues.org/domestic/Bar ... ontrol.htm (at the bottom of article, are links to other senior members of government and their positions/voting on recent and past gun control issues).

(Rahm Emanuel, chief of staff now, and his extremist position). At about 1:10 into this video, he states that people who are on the domestic no fly list because they "are known as MAYBE a POSSIBLE terrorist" you cannot buy a handgun in America, then shortly after says "if you are on that no fly list, your access to the right to bear arms is cancelled". You do not get notified of being on this list, and many people do not find out until they are at the airport trying to fly. That would carry forward to trying to buy a gun.

So much for the right to confront your accusers, due process, etc... this Republican, oh wait... DEMOCRAT, now Obama's chief of staff believes this.

I'm a conservative first. I took a Sociology class (general education requirement) here at the University of Missouri a few years back. The Korean national female liberal TA teaching it, started off by saying (and this is no joke) "If you are a conservative white male, 99% of the world's problems are your fault". During the course, she put up a list, stating what the difference between conservative and liberal was (teaching it as fact, not theory or opinion, to the majority of the 18 and 19 year old kids in the class). The list went like this:

Liberal: Intelligent, open-minded, educated, progressive, non-racist, tolerant of other ideas and cultures, in favor of freedom and democracy, having a social conscience.

Conservative: Outdated, authoritative, tending toward dictatorship in government, tolerant of racism and discrimination, close-minded, set in their ways, anti-economy, anti-democracy, bitter and resentful.

This is the liberal garbage being taught at the University level.

Man, I would LOVE to have been in that classroom when she said that! If this is what is being taught to our young people in the universities today, theres no wonder why America's society has degraded into the sad state it is now.

I was 32 when I took this course. At the end of the semester, I had 3 kids come up to me and say they enjoyed having me in the class, to argue with the teacher. They said they didn't know you could actually argue in class and disagree...

I had an A in the class, but got a B overall when the final assignment, a book report, got a C, not because it was bad, but as the teacher wrote "you didn't agree with the author's viewpoint, therefore I have to assume you didn't understand the material presented".

Talk about BS.

Ok, so I wandered away for a little while n forgot this thread-

History is a funny thing. Most times we never go back very far, like diggin in the family closet, lets not go too far into the shadows.

The democrats may try to limit gun ownership but who has SUCCEEDED???

Who did the first california weapon carry restrictions??? (1967 Mulford act)

Who used the 'common sense' doctrine to determine if a weapon SHOULD be owned by an American Citizen?

Who restricted entire types of weapons under the common sense doctrine?

Who banned sale of new fully automatic weapons to American citizens in 1986?

Who overrode state CCW laws on federal property claimin no hunter need carry concealed, no tourist need defend themselves in a federal park???

Who first set magazine limits ?

Who first banned the import of 86 listed by type, weapons?

Who used the democratic principles on which we were founded to enact legislation- FYI more democrats didnt vote for the AWB than did republicans and a higher percent of sittin republicans voted for the bill than democrats- and who used Imperial Edict to declare new restrictions on the 2nd A????

Some look at one failed bill n feel they see the total picture. I look back over my lifetime and see who has been successful at attackin the 2nd A and how they do it.

I dont fear the democratic process, like some do when it doesnt go their way, even temporarily.

My cajones tighten up a bit when those who would lead the 'free world' claim to cherish the 2nd A like I do, but use third world tinpot dictator methods to limit our weapon ownership all the while pointin at a few failed democratic attempts to do so. (Reminds me of that southern politician in 'the best lil whorehouse house in Texas')

Oh n it does kinda hurt my feelins for all some call the democrats socialists at least they attempt to work within the process and not as if they were divinely selected by Gawd to rule us.

I'd always hoped if Gawd chose a vessel on earth it would be a Joan of Arc rather than B-list actor, kind but inept New England blueblood, or a cheerleader from Andover.

Anywho, if ya look past last week, the pattern may surprize ya...
