Picked up a Winchester 70 classic and a CZ550, both in .375. :D
I'd bet the Winchester deserves the scope.
I'm a newbie, and have no idea what could be done to improve either rifle.
At the bench, recoil doesn't seem to bother me, but is it generally to heavy for a "typical snipper rifle"?

LOL, I personally haven't heard of any sniper rifles chambered for the .375 H&H. Yeah, heavy to say the least.

Make sure you get a Leupold or any other really good manufacture for your scope. With that rifle you want a Lifetime warrenty for the kick of that big bore.

dont see any reason for a true sniper rifle in .375 H&H and never herd of one... maybe if there ever was one it would have been a makeshift anti-material rifle just simply because one was more available than any existing caliber?
definitely today no rifle would be chambered in that if it was intended for sniping as its recoil and noise would be excessive and it wouldnt have as much range as some of the .30 cal bullets
