Do large rifle and large pistol primers have the same amount of compound in them? I've got alot of large rifle primers, and I have a .45acp... get the picture?

I read up on it in the speer reloading manual, and all they say is that a pistol firing pin might not be able to hit the thicker cup of the 'rifle' primers hard enough to ignite the compound.

Thoughts?

LP and LR Primers while the same diameter are NOT the same thickness. Don't remember which is which but one way will sit too low and the too high. Neither a good way.

I share your grief over primers but stay safe.

Try powdervalleyinc.com They had a pretty good supply of Wolf primers last week.
