I've never had that problem, I would suggest you contact Leupold, they have the best customer service around. They will be able to help and tell you what to do.

Leupold Dove-tail Rings
Ten day waiting period ended a little early, so I took my rifles home. Got the bipod onto the Savage pretty easy, and the mounts... and then I realized the dove-tail for the rear ring doesn't fit the mount. The ring and the mount are both the proper models for my rifle, and so I'm assuming the problem is the dovetail wasn't machined properly. Has anyone else had this problem, is there an easy solution to it, and if not should I send it to Leupold or the guy I bought it from?
Kinda sad to take your new toys home and not have 'em work completely.

Sorry for kind of trolling--Mel's advice was right: I called Leupold, they said, "Use a dowel (dumb ass)," and it worked well.
