Ok Ive had enough time shooting to do a quick review on this scope.
LEUPOLD VX-III 6.5-20X50 SILVER
All I can say is d*mn !!
1. Crystal Clear Optics !!
2. Can use at Dusk and Dawn, without eye strain i might add
3. Zoom is definatly correct and fuzzy free !!
4. Looks Good maybe even Great ,not decieving like B.S.A. ha ha
5. Dead on Accurate when sighted in
6. Stays True even on my 300 UltraMag With several shots behind it
7. Great Eye Relief !!
8. Price kinda high (i guess im just a cheap b*st*rd) But you definatly
get what you pay for here, you can buy with confidence on this item.

And remember this is a quick review, will give an update after 6 months,
and one after a year and let you know how it does long term.

Sounds great... a lot of people on this site really stand behind Leupold, and it's great to hear another great example!

Ok ive tested the VX-III enough to be very satisfied with the results.
I have this scope mounted on a savage 300 ultramag.
The results at the range are impressive to me!!
This scope has no problem holding zero at 100 yds.
Ask Mel to post pics of my shots the ones that are off center are due to my horrible shooting definatly not the scope!!
This rifle kicks like a cannon .(much better now with a muzzle break and crown)!! so recoils was a concern.
Ive also blown the x out on several targets to assure myself the the scope is dead on accurate as well as the gun is.
So I can honestly say with confidence Leupold makes one heck of a scope
and my Savage is shooting at least .30 moa or better at 100!!! :D
I would love to put this combo in a vise and see how good it actualy is.
maybe later, but not now. Thnx for reading the review and happy shooting!! :D Buy the Leupold or the Savage 116 stainless.!! :!:

I see my chance to brag about Leupold. I worked for a guide a couple of summers back packing meat and moving camps around. This was sheep camp, and each client was paying to the order of $10,000 just to be there. Optics consisted of Leica, Zeiss, Swarovsky, and Leupold. I don't think I saw anyhting other than those brands.
When it came to clarity, I really can't tell you who was best. When it gets that good, I really couldn't tell a difference. The guys who had more experience than I said that the european glass was better, but side by side, they really couldn't tell me why.

I bought a Leupold 7.5x fixed power scope. The finish was all worn off, but other than that, there was nothing wrong with it. I sent it in to the factory to see if they would refinish it. I got a call from the factory saying that they stopped making that scope in 1975, so they couldn't refinidh it. They would, however, replace it at my option. They gave me a choice between several current models, and then sent me an M8 12x42 AO. They sent it to me 2nd day air, no questions asked.

So if you don't want a Leupold because of the expense, just remember that it compares quite well with much more expensive glass, and if anything ever does go wrong, they'll fix it.
