Okay all, this happened tonight and I had to post it...Not just a friend of a friend of a second cousin twice removed story, I know it to be true.

First off, two groups of hunters arrange to meet each other in a field...

One ends up shot in the ass with a 30-06. The bullet hit a saw he was carrying, blasting it up but the man was only scratched. Paramedics and police arrive.

Shooter says he was shooting at a coyote on the run, and the bullet must have riccocheted, hitting his friend, who he had no idea was even there. Suuuree....

I figure it was an aimed shot at an angle where a lightly constructed bullet blew up on grazing the saw...To assume anything else is asking a lot I think. Like, it was a negligent discharge when the barrel just happened to be at that angle when his buddy was across the field?

lol What do you guys think?

I don't buy the coyote story either. They are pretty rare around here anyway, but its still a lame excuse. 30-06 hunting round riccochets from hitting the dirt?

CM2K, you said it. Forget Airsoft...A real friend shoots you in the ass with a high powered rifle.

Personally I think he saw his buddy in the treeline across the field, thought he was looking at a deer, and fired.

Oh, I'll believe that...

At first when I heard the story I figured the guys were kids maybe, new to hunting and shouldn't have been alone. Nah, turns out they're in their 30's.

What kind of angle would a light 30-06 bullet have to hit a hacksaw at to blow up? I bet it was a 150 gr ballistic tip or something like that, I haven't found out.
