Oh, Cannon, about verifying a rifle...Seems you gotta show it to a CFO, chief firearms officer...supposed to be 5,500 of em wandering the country. No doubt one of em is in Ottawa's police, but then again the gun registry HQ seems to be in Ottawa, with the other half in Mirimachi, NB. So probably pretty easy for ya to do. Walk right into the office and show em.
