Recently, I purchased a Mosin-Nagant M44, hoping that I might be able to find a suitable scope for it in my area. I have, however, run into a collector who insists that one can only add a suitable scope to a model 1891/30, and that the M44's bolt restricts it from such an addition.
However, in my own research, the only noticable difference between the 1891/30 and the M44 is a slight difference in barrel length. The bolts, as far as I can tell, are identical Should I be able to add the PU scope or is my collector friend correct in stating that I need to find an 1891/30?
Much Obliged.
