It is what it is and they do shoot well, action is smooth, bolt lift is easy and the stock can be bedded and forestock stabilized. Some fellows put them in a Boyds laminated stock, some shoot them as is. Their construction of the action is a big improvement over the Savage / Stevens actions, so I would bet a lot of guys are going to build their own rifles based on this action. I hope however that Bell and Carlson begin production of a full length aluminum bedding Medalist stock in both shorter weight barrel channel widths as well as heavy barrel channel widths.Yes companys like to spin themselfs a grand picture of there product even if it is a copy of someone elses. Like the design may be similar but they wel add that it made with the highest quality of xxxx type steel and held to exact tolerance will is a plus or minus of xxxx. This way they haven't siad the other manufacturer product is bad or they haven't siad there is better.
