Okay...i had posted a while back asking where to get a scope mount for my M1 carbine. well we found one and are trying to think of what scope to put on it. What are some ideas you guys have? We dont' need anything too fancy because obviously it's not a 1000 yard shooter...what do you think?

I'd go with a compact, fixed power 4x from Leupold or Burris...Then again, a quality red dot sight would be right at home on the little carbine

I like muzzle's suggestion. You also may want to look at a fixed 2.5 or perhaps a 1.5-4x if you want flexibility

Leupold has a couple of nice 1.5-4x20 scopes. They both have their new SPR reticule, which appears to be a nice/usefull reticule. I have never had any firsthand experience with it myself, but it seems cool! One version has m2 knobs and is illuminated, the non illuminated version has different knobs on it, not sure what they are called.

Red dots are a nice way to go as well. Aimpoint has some nice ones, and you can get a 3x magnifier on a twist mount to put in front of the red dot if you need some more power in a pinch, or in a twist rather. That is the combo that I have for an AR I am inthe process of building.

The guy in the picture on the top left has this setup. It is not a very good picture, but you get the idea. I'm sure you can find some pics over on AR15.com if you are curious.

A little overhalf way down the page shows a close-up view of the setup.

I agree with all the above, a red dot or low power variable would be perfect say 1.5-4 or something like that.

I have this PR scope on the Green Hornet, and it is a fantastic scope. It would be a very nice fit
