Newby to shooting Help on rifle

Well i want to start to do a little deer hunting and do some range shooting. id really also like to learn how to shoot long range distances and learn about ballistics and stuff like that. but i was looking at a Remington 700 vs (.308). what do you guys think any pros and cons about the rifle would be great

I had a question on the stocks. I looked at the VS and the P stocks and they look really similar when you has HS what do you mean because they look very similar to me. I also had a question on the M24 stock. how much would a stock like that run for? just wondering about different stocks and how they make a difference.

How come Some of M700s have iron sights and others dont?

Thanks for the Info guys. o just for the heck of it i was looking at opsinc.com for fun and they advertise products right but they dont give prices. How do the expect to sell stuff with no prices. Are supressors illeagle? o and Remingtonle.com does that to they dont give prices on the site.

oo good stuff ya i was just checking the supressors out for fun just cuz it was on other sites list on SC. but i had another question are their kits out there to build your own rifle like they do with black powder rifle kits? ive been looking around just i cant find a complete kit.
