I've been looking at a PS-90 for a while, but the more I look into it, and it's small but relatively pricey round (5.7x28mm), the more I begin to wonder if this is enough of a step up from a .22LR. I guess these are my question:
What kind of MOA accuracy can I expect of the PS90 with a 16" barrel.
What kind of stopping power does the cartridge have.
And am I'm looking at a good gun for deer out at 300 yards or should I be looking at a .223 or even a .243

Maybe I'm mixing apples and oranges, but any PS90 owners(or anyone with experience with the cartridge) input would be helpful.

Shooting at deer with a PS90, let alone at 300 meters, is ridiculous.

Hard to even say a .223 should be doing that, dude.

Get a hunting cartridge. Not a semi auto 22 magnum.

Thanks for your help. Thats all the little push I needed to fall off that cliff. I had pretty much talked myself out of buying it anyway. I'm in Georgia and the deer here are smaller than the wild dogs back home, thats the only reason I even considered it, and $1800 is way to much for almost anygun off-the-shelf.
Instead I bought a 7mm rem mag... talk about swinging one way or the other.

Can't see you being under gunned for any animal native the western hemisphere with the 7 Mag. The PS-90 is a submachinegun in semi-auto. Sub machineguns use pistol calibers. The thing that makes a PS-90 worth while is illegal in most states.

My brother has one and there is no doubt that its a fun gun to shoot and it def. turns heads. Lotta money for a gun that is very limited in use.

Good man! Much more versatile tool.

I hear ya on the deer from Georgia, but still...

You can shoot anything that lives in the lower 48 now, just about...and have a nice long range rifle to do it.

All I am saying here is educate yourself on all the "possibilities of the ps90" Once you figure the possibilities out, than decide wether or not you want one. I am going to leave it at that!!
