Hey Mel

i have a sugjestion for a new forum. How about a forum where users can come in and post their favorite load recipe's for reloading. Example, best loads for long range, hunting, short range, etc.
Thanks alot Mel

I'm going to ask for opinions on this one. It is a good idea, but does it get away from the tactical/sniping nature of the forums?

If you are reading this, and have an opinion, please post it.

I'm always ready to give an opinion.

You've talked about the inability of military and Law Enforcement snipers to use hand-loads in the past. I suspect that will not change anytime soon. I believe that is why you did the match ammo review and comparrision.

Having said that, I handload for my .308 and my 6.5x284. I would not mind an additional pet load or two. But, I can, and do, obtain that and similar insight and information from the F-Class, and Long Range Target Shooting site, as well as the two or three other Varmint and Wildcat sites that I visit.

I believe that such a forum "could" become distracting, unless CAREFULLY controlled (they seem to have it under control at at least one other sniper site I visit). I vote yes, you can always pull it if it gets ungainly..

A forum solely devoted to loading recipes could very easily steer away from a tactical/sniping focus. As much as I would love to see recipes for cloning Federal GMM or Black Hills I don't see what higher sniping purpose it would serve.

I would love to see what loads some are developing however I feel that there are so many other subjects that need to be addressed which do pertain directly with the art of sniping.

For now, I am going to not put up a handload recipe forum. I think if the occasional question comes up like "replicating M118 with a reload", then it could/can be addressed in Misc.

Speaking of which, anyone know what bullets are used by lake city for M118? (173 gr)
