I am thinking of buying a Remington 700 LTR .308 40X trigger that was accurized ( lapped bolt and receiver, squared bolt face) from the Remington Custom Gun Shop. I can get it for about $990.00. Is this a good deal? Anyone have this rifle? Appreciate your comments.

I would deffinitly grab it up at $990 if it has all that work done to it at the remington custom shop... the rifle alone is relativly hard to find and once it hits the rack at a gun store it will go up in price.

Squared and lapped? That sounds like a good deal to me!

I'm not familiar with the 40x trigger. The standard Remmy trigger will adjust down to a glass-rod-breaking crisp 2.5 pounds, so what advantage does it have?

External adjustment (you can adjust it without removing the barreled action from the stock) and it'll adjust to even lighter, and crisper (is that a word?)
