I was wondering about the Remington 710. Anyone have any experience with it? Biggest plus for me is that it has a detachable box. The pictures that remington have seem to be pretty similar to the 700. Apparently the bolt throw and locking mechanism are different though. For the price they are suggesting, $426, it might be well worth it, if you can upgrade.

It would make a great throwdown gun!! I wouldn't want one for any serious shooting. It's cheap for a reason. This is a gun for guys that go to the range once, sight in with a couple of shots at a paper plate and then use the remainder of the box of shells to deer hunt over the next ten years. If that's you, go for it. If not, save up and get a real gun.
