Hi Guys,

I am moving from QLD down to Melbourne in the new year. Can anyone please offer some advice on ranges that are around Melbourne and are good to shoot at?

This would be for Centre fire and rim fire shooting.

I have tried to look it up on the net, but I guess each range has its own quirks and oddities (like not being open on Sundays).

Any replies will be greatly appreciated..

Thanks and regards

Look at the SSAA website and the VRA site and see what you find.

I did look it up on the net as quoted above, but you cannot find out the insider info on them. Like Belmont in Brisbane for instance...Single shot only, 500 meter range not always open etc.

So anyone form Melbourne or Victoria, please can you give me some advice?

Thanks

Mattyg..

try "Eagle Park Range " in Little River ( 30 min from Melbourne )
It accomodates most types of shooting .... several clubs use this range ....Cowboy action, military rifle, benchrest, big bore rifle , shotgun too i think.. handgun matches also.
Its very open.... picturesque ... friendly shooters, and if you join SSAA its $15 per day session. $30 if non member !
Rifles, shotguns, handguns...its all good.
There is even a paintball place right next door :)
Check it out

@Aussieshot,

Thanks very much. Sorry it has taken so long to reply. I appreciate your input. Just waiting on a new 700P and I will be out there.

Regards

Matt
