Hey guys, what kind of paint is it that you use to paint/camo your rifle stocks? Im guessing it has to be a strong paint to hold up to scuffs and scratches. Where do you get this type of paint? Thanks guys, just another newb questions, lol.

Heck, I just used some extra-flat cammo spray paint on my rifle. Of course, I have a Rem. 700 ADL, and I wouldn't recomend it on a higher-end rifle. Then again, I see pics of Delta Force guys who have their M4's painted a lot sloppier than mine.

Lauer Custom Weaponry makes the Dura-Coat finish which seems to be very popular. Plus you can get stencils for it to apply a multitude of different patterns.

I've seen a lot of guys around here recommend a product called "Gun Kote"; do a search for it on Google.

Sweet, thanks for the replies guys. Most of the military guys who paint their rifles do it to block the glare, and blend in with their enviroments, i dont think they car if it looks neat or pretty, lol, as long as it works everytime and protects their ass, they should be happy.

I'll check out that Gun Kote, thanks again guys.

Gun-Kote is a bake on epoxy metal finish, not to be confushed with spray on paint.

You might also want to look at boflage (spelling??). Its not that durable, but its made to be tempory for when you need to change coloring/pattern. Its durable enough to last for a bit.

Just go to the nearest hunting stores around you, for me it's Gander Mountain or Cabelas, and pick up some Hunters Specialites spray paint in whatever color you need. Its an extra-flat finish and comes in tan, green, brown, etc. I think it sells for around $4.00 a can.
