Hey Guys-

Does anyone know of a gunsmith who specializes or at least has some experience with Ruger rifles?

Probably for a new barrel and action trueing.

I have an older M77 (tang safety) in 7mm Rem. Mag. It currently has a very flimsy plastic/nylon stock, buggy whip barrel and $29.00 Tasko with ruger rings, blued finish, covered with nicks and scratches.

Funny thing it is really accurate. Shoots around .5 minutes with handloads (Nosler Ballistic tips at about 3200fps++) I was thinking of maybe rebarreling in 300 Win. Mag and refinish the metal in Parkerizing or some type of fairly rugged bake on paint product and drop it in a McMillan standard profile huning stock. Kind of looking for a fairly rugged, accurate set up and a fun project.

Thanks for your input....

Hey, glazer, is HCR where you get your rifles worked on?

I wish you had asked me this a year ago, my uncle bill is one of the best gunsmiths in the u.s., but he just retired from it. Unless I need something!
He went to pennsylvania school of gunsmithing. He is the man. I will ask him if he has any friends that still work on them.

I haven't had em do any work for me yet. I had a ruger that I thought about sending to em. I ended up getting in a bind financialy and had to sell some stuff off. I am now on the prowl for something else now that I have pretty much gotten out of my bind.
