I'm in the market for a new tactical long range rifle that will double for hunting. I've decided on a .308 caliber and a 20in or 18in barrel. The decision I still have is buying a savage 110 tactical or a ruger american predator and putting a magpul stock on it. My end goal is to be a good enough long range shooter out to 1000 yards. I already have the scope for the rifle so the rifle is all I need left. Thanks for the future responses have a great day.

I picked up a 24" 110 Tactical in the spring.
I put it in an MDT LSS XL Gen 2 chassis system and topped it with an Athlon Midas Tac 6-24 x 50 scope.I added a Little Bastard Gen 2 brake
It's an awesome rifle. Can't recommend it enough.
So far I've stretched it out to 1054yds with 169gr Berger Hybrids.

I put a Ruger Ranch Rifle in a MDT chassis system and it worked out very well. So you may want to look at MDT if you go with a Ruger American rifle.

Get the Savage 110 Precision rifle. You can get just about any caliber you want, and it comes with the MDT LSS XL Gen2 chassis. Great setup right out of the box!!
