I just had to put my finger prints on it before I started the ten day waiting period... I think I'm going to try shooting a round without a scope!

Thanks to Jeff the computer-suave Rambo!

just ship it over here LOL
ok let us know how it shoots when ya get it to the range
That is one sweet rifle. What made you want to buy it? It will be interesting to see how accurate it is.

Keep us posted!!!

The ban which was signed by Arnie and will be imposed at the end of the year.

I will take it to the range prior to mounting a scope on it just for kicks. :)

In terms of accuracy, I really don't know--not expecting it to be wildly accurate, though... designed to hit tanks, not heads.

Nice rifle. have fun buying ammo(hehe). Yea the first thing im gonna think to do with this rifle is rob a bank. how in the hell are you gonna conceal that bad boy and if you do shoot the cops wll hear you a mile away  .
heh good point
they are afraid of gangsters picking eachother off at 1000m
how many people learn to shoot 1000m from watching hip hop videos
besides they would get crap on the black market not go through the legal registration process

I think I'll HAVE to rob a bank in order to afford it. :) Even if it weren't the size of me, the thing weighs about as much as I do, too, making it difficult to hold it up, much less shoot from any position other than prone.

I think it gives you an EXCELLENT excuse to start handloading! Especially for the .50.
!

Nice gun......glad you could get one before the ban goes into effect.
yea if you can learn to handload, make ammo a hell of a lot more consistant than surplus .50 BMG

If it weren't for a wreckless driver, I wouldn't have been able to! ;)

Does anyone know if handloading can prove bad for your gun? Barrett recommends I don't, but so does my Glock, and so I'm starting to think it's a legal thing for manufacturers?

Handload on the Barrett will be fine....they are just concerned about people doing something wrong.
If you find other 50 shooters in your area most will be nice and help get you started the right way.

I wouldn't recomend handloads for a GLOCK though. Lots of problems and possible injury. I have seen a few pics
of gun parts that just broke in half. Who knows what the variables are but I would stay on the cautious side
until they rule that it was just hand loader error.
re

I think the problem with glocks, is that they are fierd from a semi-open breach. So if a handloader puts too much powder in the case, the case deforms and rupturs on shooting.
That's not really a problem since the Glock is meant to be a serviceweapon - and serviceweapons will 99,7% of the time use standard ammo...either civi or fairly hot military ammo. And trust me, Glock 17 is one of few weapons designed to shoot hot military ammo and not fall apart.

And if it kBs...it usually goes pop straight up and not into the shooter's face. But no - handloads and Glock aren't a perfect pair unless you know exactly what you're doing - all the time. Me, I'd never use handloads in a Glock. But I have several friends that do and neither has ever had a problem.

But on topic....damn I'd like to have a rifle like that!
re

Kam, doesnt your mate have a .50 cal rifle?
As incredible as it may seem, considering some of these people, no, none. I know of at least one person with a custom built .50...but I don't really know him. And I wouldn't want to own his rifle. It's some freaky BR'ish thingy. Hideous stock...and the colour! The colour!

But if I was rich....either a McBros .50 or the ever lovely AI

ed: was it this forum I saw a link to a photobucket with a Green AICS 1.5 stock with a different kind of green barrel and action :?: I was supposed to show those pics to my gunsmith...but...there's at least one thing I don't have in common with elephants. :?
Awesome rifle, Maroo!

Any ranges near by where you can set up your target in the next zip code? At least you'll stay in good shape walkin out there to check your hits lol.

The closest 1000 yard range is in central California, about three-to-four hours from where I live. I'm considering some property in Northern California, which runs perpendicular to land my uncle owns, which would give me well over a mile to set up my own range... sadly to say, I'd probably be too lazy to walk the distance and instead steal one of his four-wheelers.

Hey man thats a nice rifle, heres a link for more .50cal BMGs they have silencers and stuff like that
