What is the best way to ship a rifle to Hawaii. I have a mini 30 sold to a LEO there and UPS wants about $58 to get it there!!

Is there a cheaper way to do it?

Thanks!!

According to the ATF site to sell to a LEO I must have a signed copy of the letter (on station leter head) from the CLEO for the area and it must be shipped to the CLEO and he will do the paperwork to list it in the LEO's name. Is this all that that has to be done? Any advice?

Yeah, try USPS. Many people do not realize that the good ol' USPS will ship rifles (no handguns). All the same laws, PLUS, the bolt has to be removed from the rifle when shipped (it can be in the same box, the rifle just has to be inoperable). USPS is generally cheaper to ship than UPS

Just make sure get all the extras.
USPS may be cheaper, but they have a much worse track record than UPS. From my experience anyway.

Get delivery confirmation, insurance and signature confirmation.

Shipping is sort of like shooting, you get what you pay for.
