Here is an interesting one for you Mel. SLG-K31S which is the Swiss Schmidt Rubin K31 (7.5 x 55 - the SWISS Mauser). Supposed to be incredibly accurate for a WWII shooter.

Not sure about the sniper version, but they are in shotgun news for about $250 I think but I have to check for sure. Even the regular version is supposed to be about 1.5MOA with surplus ammo open sights at 100. Itis a straight pull rifle, would be good for rapid fire.

The K31 is a straight pull action. It is not a Mauser. You can find K31s in the Shotgun News. I will send you some addresses and phone nos. soon.

The K31 is probably the nicest made rifle ever. I have a Rolex watch that is crude by comparison.

The blueing, fit, finish and machining are all absolutely exquisite.

Now I have to go and take a cold shower. Just thinking about that beautiful Swiss miss is getting me all hot and bothered.

Mad, I hear you...Saw a bunch of them in a chorus line on the website of a store near here that are in VG to VG+ condition. Stocks were marked but there wasn't anything wrong with the metal. They were al about $350 Canuck. They look great and I am happy I got to see some in original condition, the only others I had seen were Sporters in 30-30.

Hands were battling over wallet for for a long time...Just so many other things I would like to buy :(

Shotgun news prices ran from 89.00 to 125.00 all were quoted as good to very good condition. I will have to go get the adds for them out again, but there were several places, including one in Ohio, where I may have to go look :D . I have seen only one and would agree with Mad on the quality. There was a write up in shotgun news a while back and they loved it.

I will have to look up info on this, but I think there is a scope mount out there that will work verysimilar to the sniper variant, and as good as the accuracy is reported to be on these that may be all you would need. Might be fun to mount the Mueller on.
