Hey mel, this is my 1st post hehe, ok umm im in from way down here in new zealand:D, i do have a question can i send in 2 targets lol from 2 different rifles as i have a remington 700 id like to try and i also have purchased a russian SKS in 7.62 x 39 and havnt had a chance to test its accuracy yet, its orignal cond. so id be shooting it without a scope,
First, welcome aboard!

Well, actually, the rules say one target per person. So to answer your question, no, you can only send in one target. I would shoot them both, and send in your best one.

Like I said, I'll try to shoot a target, but I'll be an "unofficial benchmark".

does anyone have a way of printing this target for me on some really thick paper? The range i shoot at uses wire frames stuck into the ground at distance, i was having issues with my rifle so i didnt get to shoot the target, but i shot one with my pistol for kicks and giggles and it wasnt printing very well (i.e. nearly ripped the damn paper in half). :(

Print it out on white construction paper. Any standard printer should be able to handle that because most printers take thick glossy stock for photos now. If you want something a little thinner, you might wanna try document drafting stock(for resumes and legal documents)

construction paper works great. If you cannot do that, simply tape it to a piece of cardboard, if that doesn't work tape it to poster board, if that doesn't work, tape it to the fender of your car

Hi there, I know I'm new, but can I borrow your car ?
I'm not sure if my rifle will be ready by the end of the month, maybe I can shoot rhinos during the break in. If not, count me in for the next match!
Glad to be here

Yes, good question.

Mark your target with your name and return address as well as your screen name if you are a member here. I know some of you have friends that are going to shoot, they do not need a screen name to compete.

Sighted in today for the competition.

Went to my informal measured distance range, found several deer standing on the 100 yard line. Much swearing ensues.

Back on track. It is -31 and with Ballistic Tip ammo my groups have shifted from my October Accubond zero 5 inches x2 inches. On track in 5 shots and hovering around MOA. Should do my best and mail my target by the 24th.

My rifle is frozen.

No harm, no foul...I lavishingly thawed it out

I was suprised to see how quickly the condensation froze. Stripped it down and wiped it off, gave it a coat of dry lube and its not shooting again after the match. Maybe I can shoot the match with an SKS too...I'll hit the paper...

Nah, she's fine. There really was ice on most of it though.

I think that those of us that have tempatures 60 degrees below freezing should get some kind of break  . I was out yesterday at 30 below 0, and after eight shots I was about done. I am using a Rem. 788 in .223 and I know the rifle can get at least .5 MOA, but I'm shooting groups more than twice that size.
Muzzleblast is right, as soon as you walk back in the door after being out for more than an hour, the rifle is encased with frost and ice.
