OK my question pertains to the scope rings as myself and a friend have a steyr ssg 69. Does the rings need to be on a certin side of the rifle? The quick release levers are on the left side of my rifle. Does it matter??? Is there any thing that would make the elevation diff or the windage???

SSG Rings

They go on the left side, if you notice the front ring has a stop block at the front, which comes up hard against the receiver. This places the levers on the left side (looking through the scope) of the rifle.

just picked up a new to me ssg with qd rings....i dont see any difference between the two sets of rings...one base seems to be chamfered (worn?) on both the fore and aft ends of the rings (the dovetail slots), the other seems to be chamfered on the aft end? is that what you are talking about????
