Why would anyone want a semi wadcutter bullet for a rifle? Is there a specialized application that I'm missing?

I think you would have to cast swc rifle bullets yourself. You might even have to have a custom mould made. I don't think one exists off the shelf.

Very true...Lots of 45 LC and 44-40 rifles being used, stuff like that...I hadn't thought of that :D

In any other rifle it kinda defeats the purpose of a rifle bullet, no?

The application is simple, it's bullet expansion without sacrificing penetration, and taking the most advantage out of the super cavitation principle

He said, "magnum rifle cartridges", not "magnum pistol cartridges".

And in a "magnum rifle cartridge", I fear that the bore leading would not be a pleasant thing. I suppose you could load .45 Colt pills and use them in a .458 Winchester Magnum, if they were heat-treated properly.

Exactly what caliber did you have in mind?
