Have any of you ever had your faith really tested? It happened to me recently.

I am defending someone charged with possession of child pornography. The detective in charge of the investigation showed me some of the pictures and the images are so disgusting and so profoundly disturbing that I can't sleep. The pictures are that bad. They are pure undiluted evil.

I was also truly outraged to learn about the scope of the child pornography problem on the internet. The perverts have dozens of websites and the addresses involved are very obvious. These sites are off shore and are run by folks who will do anything for money. There are literally thousands of images on one such site and that one site alone is responsible for the violation of thousands of children. As far as I am concerned, the operators of these sites are one of the biggest threats we face today.

Anyway, I remember where Jesus spoke to his disciples about sinners. He compared the Lord to the the good shepherd who delights in finding lost sheep. The good shepard has thousands of sheep that are found, yet He spends time and effort reaching out to the sheep that are lost.

My poor client is lost and everyone hates him. I'm the only person trying to help him and if I can treat him decently maybe he can be the lost sheep that gets found. I keep telling myself that because defending this guy is the single most difficult thing I've ever had to do. Lots of people will tell you that they believe etc. but when push comes to shove then you can tell the depth of their faith.

I'm about to go home now. And I will sing along with the Jordanaires: "Must Jesus Bear the Cross Alone"

But then, I'm

The jail system will work the "problem" out once they find out why he's in there.

As for you, it's a job, you don't have to like it, you don't even have to do it. But you do. Probably because you feel it is the right thing to do, everyone deserves and equal chance...

No worries Mad.

Yeah thats the thing exactly.

I bet it tries faith not only in God, but in other ways....You have an important job too, Mad....Making sure everyone gets a fair shake at justice, because they deserve one no matter how horrible their crime was.

Try to stay strong and do the best you can, cause in the end you're still helping people, beyond this guy.

The fight against child porn is just as hard to win and as twisted as the fight against drugs...Well, more so.

Mad,
It's all part of living in a fallen world bro. Do what you can, and plant the seed. No one can ask anymore of you or judge you for that.

Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who
judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn
yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. But we
know that the judgment of God is according to truth against
those who practice such things. And do you think this, O man,
you who judge those practicing such things, and doing the
same, that you will escape the judgment of God? Or do you
despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and
longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads
you to repentance?

Rom 2:1-5

You are doing good work. Everything happens for a reason.
Let God sort'em out.

I'll say a prayer for you to get strength and guidance. That's tough to be defending someone who does this sort of thing and know how bad it was. Like I said, I'll pray for you to get some help from God. That's about all I can do for ya, good luck.

Yea, christan here. Far from being what I should be. Like BC I have seen some very ugly things, but it has helped me get through some of the bad moments I had from seeing the things I seen.

Yep, me too.

My favorite bible quote being "judge not least ye be judged."
I try to stick by that one the most.

So I don't have to look it up..................what the heck is that?
precisely, it means multiple gods

more presicely on my beliefs is that there are basic elements of life, some of them with nature, others with time and space and theres a sort of "god" that controls these forces. Where as yes you have free will, you can obviously be influenced in that if a "god" feels you ought not do something, it will use its force to attempt to prevent said thing from being done. And just to add, i believe in an effect where when your born your given certain potentials in basic skills such as logical thinking or creative thinking and also physical ratios as well, also with personality traits, and that when you die, these traits will return to(metephorically) a primary source, to be redistributed to another newborn creature
