I've recently heard that the FBI adopted a new sniper rifle to replace their old in house built custom ones.

Problem is, I've heard it from two different companies.

H-S Precision's HTR has apparently been adopted as a whole system. However, a new model of FN's SPR has apparently ALSO been adopted. If memory serves, I think they were calling it the M3AG or something. Its slightly different from the regular SPRs, having a A3 stock, and fluted 24 inch barrel.

So has the FBI adopted two different rifles? Both companies boldy claim it in their advertisements.

Anyone know anything about this? Anyways, even if you haven't heard about it, thought everyone might like to know about FN's new rifle. This isn't just hearsay, they have a full page add for it in the latest issue of Guns and Weapons (I think).

In the most recent magazine I have it only mentions the HTR so I'm not sure. But I sure hope the FBI isn't using French weapons. For that would surely mean the end of the world!!1

FBI using French weapons? what do they want white flags for?

That FN SPR couldn't be the one they made with Winchester, could it?

The original FN special police rifles were winchester barreled actions in different stocks. I have not gotten my hands on their new models to see if its the same. If I had to guess, it is probably still a winchester action, though the barrels may be different.

I'm from Belgium and I must say that FN makes the nicest rifles in the world. If you take for example the FALO (heavy FAL) it shoots a nice 2" group at 850 yards, and it is a semi auto rifle. This baby is one of my personal favorites next to my Lee-Enfield nr. 4 MK1 sniper rifle.

Thats less than .25 MOA at 850 yards?? Are you sure about those numbers? They are very difficult to believe, unless it was an indoor range, but even then, .25 for an FAL variant is near unbelievable!

But I've been wrong before
