i was under the impression that the reason they stopped using bottleneck pistol cartridges was due to issues with feeding and cycling properly.

Might work well, but i wouldnt own it.

357 SIG is bottle-necked, isn't it? I don't know much at all 'bout bullets and such, but the top has a bottle neck... *shrugs*

Bottlenecked pistol rounds don't cycle well, last I heard.

Now if I could get a DA revolver chambered in this with a six or eight inch barrel, I'd be interested. Don't feel like clearing a lot of stoppages out on the firing line with a semi-auto.

I think I'll just get a 45acp one day and not muck with it

I'd be willing to give 7.62mm Tokarev a try though. Would make a nice plinker and its quite proven.

Cheap ammo, cheap pistol, I like the economics and reliability but rather anemic. Unless its in a burp gun. Never fired it, but I've never heard gripes about it or the mauser round not feeding well.

and then i know id never buy one. My general rule is that i never try and tweak a cartridge unless it serves a purpose. i just cant see what purpose this serves. And i absolutely hate the desert eagle. IMHO gang bangers are the only thing keeping IA in buisness.

why not make a new cartridge if a new purpose needs to be served
whole idea i never saw much of a use for period
i dont hate the desert eagle, ive fired one
i just hate the people from the hood who go to the range and shoot it jump up and down and pass it to another punk to shoot and they all think there badasses when all they are doing is renting a desert eagle and sucking at shooting
ive seen a few who went to the range, shot it by themselves or let thier friends try it but were more safe with it and i dont have a problem with more mature people firing it

let's put things a bit clear here ( sorry my fault )

Which do u think has greater penetration and stopping power

FN 5.7x28 or my proposed 7x28 using a new cartridge designed around the .45 ACP having the same case diameter but a length of 28mm and a 7mm spitzer bullet.

How much would a longer and wider 7mm bullet cut into the powder capacity of the casing, and if it doesn't, what would the OAL be? those are the two things I'm curious about.

That looks better than the FN round to me. I've seen what a group called "Smoking Hole" has done with it, 1911's, MP5's etc. All very cool.

What does BOZ mean though?

.357 sig

I have a Glock 22 with a custom match barrel in .357sig - shoots great, never jams, I got a 1.5in group at 25 yards with it the other day with iron sights... how many people who 'heard they jam' actually shoot a .357sig?

the cartridges i was refering to we're old school bottle necks... like WWI bottle neck cartridges. I cant say as i have shot a 357 sig but my cousin keeps reccomending it.

All bottl-neck rounds jam all of the time (even .357 SIG)... unless you're using a GLOCK!
