trying to decide between Nikon tactical or Zeiss

ok heres the dilema, i need a new scope for my rifle. my old scope is starting to jump impact points from shot to shot. and i have to keep readjusting it as it is only a $200 scope anyways reapir would be iddiotic. i want to put a good piece of glass on it i have it narrowed down between 2 scopes the Nikon Tactical in 4-16x and the Zeiss Conquest in 6-20x both scopes with the MilDot reticle. i will not waiver on this one. but my question is this do either of these scopes come with a sunshade? no shops in my general area sell either of these scopes and im looking at having to order online. i was atleast able to go to a shop that had both when i visited my family on X-mas but i forgot ask about the sunshade. i would much rather the scope just come with the sunshade and would prefer to avoid having to buy one.if any one has any expierence with either of these scopes help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

I would talk to Scott at LibertyOptics as he's good and will work with you.

Two VERY nice scopes to consider.

The Nikon Tactical offers a 30mm tube and a RFP reticle.
(I would prefer a FFP reticle when employing a mil dot.)

The Conquest offers a FFP reticle, in 3-12x56mm and a 30mm tube.

The Conquest you mentioned has a RFP reticle and a 1" tube.

That said, I would go with the Nikon.

I'm not crazy about a 12x scope w/ a 56mm objective, just to get a FFP reticle and a 30mm tube.

I think the Nikon has better knobs too. Yes, the Nikon offers a sun shade. 4"?? not sure of length.

Both scopes are VERY nice. I have to have a 30mm tube though. More adjustments.

Neither one of these scopes comes with a sun shade, they would need to be purchased seperately.

mele, I believe all the Nikon Tacticals I have seen, have had a 4" sun shade that came with them.

I may be mistaken, but Sniper Country sells a Tactical w/ sun shade I know.
I have owned a Nikon Tactical 4-16X50 for quite a while. Comes with a 4inch sunshade, mine also came with a voucher for a free Mildot master (which i couldent redeem here in Australia :x ) . Very good scope for the money. The oprics are very good.
Whoops... my bad! The Nikon apparently DOES come with a sunshade!

Mulga,

How's the eye relief on that scope??

Eye relief is good. The manual Says 3.39inches (not sure if this is min or max). I dont think it changes much with the change of magnification. Mind you I have only had it mounted on a .223 Varmint rifle (until I can afford a Sako TRG22

Here are some pics

The rifle is a Sako Varmint Stainless Laminated with sako optiloc mounts and rings, cambered in .223Rem. Likes 55g Nosler BT's @ 3284fps. Shoots 1/2moa consistently and smaler when I do my part.

PS I thaught of having a go at the SC postal Shoot but I think ive left it a bit late. :(

I loved my Conquest. My comments were not a knock on it by any means.

Both scopes would serve you well. Good luck.
