I'm trying to decide between the Vortex Diamondback HP 2-8x32 and the Nikon Team Primos 3-9x40.
The scope will be going on my 7.62x39 X-Caliber barreled Savage 16 Lightweight Hunter. The stock I ordered is a Richards Microfit Custom Rollover AAA graded. With it all together I will have some money in it so I don't want junk but I do want the best bang for buck because I only want to do this buying once

I have 3 Vortex scopes. I would buy the Vortex over a Nikon any day.

How much are you looking to spend on the scope ?

I've owned a Viper PST, Gen 1 Crossfire 6-24x50, still own several Leupolds. Under $200 is what I'm going for in both the 2 in question

I have a 4-12x40 Diamondback I got for that price. I think it offers a little better flexibility for a hunting scope.

I'm trying to save a little weight because the barrel is a Hog Hunter profile (.7in at the muzzle) so is a little heavier.
The Nikon is lighter by 4oz but I was wondering how the clarity is between the two

I've not been impressed with the lower end stuff but mid-higher end stuff is nice
