I just finished reading the post about wolf ammo and I was very discouraged because I just bought 500 rounds of the stuff for my AR. If it really does the damage everyone says it does, is it worth using? If not, what do I do with it? :(

i have a Bushmaseter M4A3 Carbine (post ban) and id get some Federal American Ealge or Federal XM193 ammo, Winchester USA, Remington UMC stuff etc
you dont want to fire wolf ammo because of the reasons listed there
if you want to risk damage to your AR you probably would spend more to repair than you would save by using wolf ammo and spend a lot of time cleaning the stuff go ahead if not just get rid of it.. if ya can sell it or if not i still wouldnt use it

Listen to Jeff_850. The only gun you should run it through is an AK-47, only because they are so cheap to begin with and can get dirty as heck and keep on running. Also they have no problem feeding the lacquered cartridge cases.

But in an AR you would just be frustrating yourself. Accuracy will suck, it'll foul up five times as fast and you will probably have feeding problems once the lacquer on the cases gets heated up during fire.

Cheap ammo? Go to the store and buy some Remington UMC ammo in the yellow box. It is about the same price as Wolf, and you can pay $50 for a 250 round brick of it at my local Bass Pro Shops. Brass cases, 55 grain FMJ bullets, it'll be perfect.

Sell the Wolf on gunbroker.com.

heh AKs although i hate to admit it are much more dourable to the than the ARs are since i like the AR
anyways the main reason i like the AR-15s is thier accuracy potential as most of them are sub-moa and most of the accurized ones are well below 1 moa but thats a whole differnt gun heh
no i havnt fired wolf, i have fired thousands of rounds of Federal Ammo both American Eagle and XM193, Rem UMC, Win WSA brand also... 55 gr fmj ammo works great in my 1:9 twist, 62gr and heavier also does good.. out of my M4, accuracy is superb and i have not had any feed problems save new magazines that needed to be broken in.. seems that new mags sometimes are problematic the first time you load them or atleast 2 of my 15 mags were and discounting those problems i have had no feed problems whatsoever
did i mention sub-minute of angle accuracy
and there isnt any damage to my extractor like steel cased ammo can do
www.cheaperthandirt.com sells the Federal stuff which gets my reccomendation but they are all good for $3.79/pack no it cant beat wolf price but if wolf does damage to your expensive AR then it doesnt seem that wolf ammo is so cheap afterall
you made an investment in getting an AR, if your like me then you made an investment in all sorts of shooting accessories which probably cost big bucks, dont then put cheap ammo though it

I run the Wolf through my Mini-14 as "plinking" ammo that I fire in places where it's unlikely that I can recover my brass - or just feel to lazy to want to pick it up. It has it's place...
