·Why do you all and all other "Sniper Realted" sites I've glared at use bolt action centerfire instead of auto rimfire? It just would make more sense to use a rimfire instead. Can u help me?

Why not use .22 LR or SR, they're cheaper to shoot, and understandable to use for just training and learning to become a Sniper? Or am I wrong, or mislead?

well .22 LR isnt strong enough to hit **** at extreme distances and wouldnt be suited for sniping
for training its always better to use the real thing... long range marksmanship is just as much knowing what ajustments to make on your scope as much as it is keeping the gun steady
snipers dont pay for the ammo either... the military pays for it
why bolt action? there more reliable and dont launch brass 10 yards...

Israel used to use silenced 10/22s to snipe at protestors who were inciting riots and such, and thought it would be non lethal...oops, it killed people. So now they use em to shoot dogs. I figure thats about the best it can do, a "hush puppy" concept.
yes but they have EXTREMELY limited roles that they are hardly counted at all and can only fill a specialized position, nothing more and will not come close to preforming as a standard sniper rifle which is what 99.99% of snipers will be using
its a decent silent takedown weapon but again only at close range, useful for eliminating guards and guard dogs

Try practicing with a pistol chambered in .40 S&W, and then test your abilities with the SAME pistol (H&K, Sig, & Glock all make 'em) chambered in .357 SIG. The difference isn't so drastic, but it's a great way to get an up close idea of why you can't practice with one gun and expect to be proficient with another.Kizzerd said:

Nothin wrong with honest questions, just chuck em in the right place...and surf a lil first to see if anyone asked it already, like the "why bolt action?" stuff
fine if its a question that they need to know there is no such thing as a dumb question
it beomces a dumb question when not properly stated
if a post is put in the right forum, its clear what the question is then the members will be more than happy to help you
post stuff in the right spot... under the forums name there is a discriptoion of the forum, you can get help that way, check out the forum a little bit you might see the answer to your question before you ask it, have any more questions feel free to ask
