Neglecting apparently small variations in ballistics I recently ran out of Winchester Ranger in 223 and reverted to Power Point Super X CXP2 223 and have noticed minimal difference - other than price.

Does anyone know what the real differences are and why Winchester only supplies Ranger to Law Enforcement and Military?

Ussually when a bullet is sold only to law enforcement it is more of a "hot load". Bullet makers don't want to go through the liability of selling them to the public. Most of the masses out there will not understand the wear and tear a hotter bullet can have on the weapon they are using and be less likely to perform preventative maitinence. I can't speak specifically for the round you are talking about but that has been some of my experiances.
