Im at the range the other day and laying down at the 300 yard line. Turns out im laying next to the Fulton County PD's DM. He's shooting your typical remington variant but just so happens to have a freaking HUUUUUGE scope on top. I ask him about it and he tells me its from a company called XOTIC.

Long story short.

XOTIC Optics (extreme operations tactical instrument corporation)
USS (Ultimate Sniper Scope) 4-16x56mm
Mil-dot
1/8th MOA clicks
Front Focal Plane
Street Price: around 800 from what i hear.

Question : Beings as i cant get their website to pop up right now, anyone got any info on this and mabye a model with a sub 50mm bell? Great looking scope, and supposedly meant to compete with USO. and Swarovski. Kahles and the like.

i havent learned much but this is what ive got, its a brand new company and this is their first scope, still in the pre buy stages. Their shipping demo models to certain PD groups and military groups for consideraton of contracts i guess. I talked with a lovely young lady down at SWFA whos going to get me contact info mel. The person who has that information is out today i guess. I sent an email out to him, but dont know if he'll reply.

I'll call tommorrow and bug the guy about it.

Right now their the only ones, and their not sending out anything until april from what i understand. Its still a pre order situation.

A question, how the hell does anyone justify a 56mm objective?

Ah, the Fulton County P.D. needs a marksman's rifle equipped with a 56mm obj. scope as much as they "need" a rifle in 375 Ackley for the SWAT Team. But they must have a cool armorer to buy that stuff!

At first i thought this was a joke. i knew i never heard of that company and you have to admit it sounds weird. XOTIC (exotic) i thought you were going to put some crazy picture or something.

Alright new info, Its hard to get these people to talk about them. What I know, its a japanese scope, not sure which of the manufactuers is making it out of the big 6 japanese folks. From what i can deduce, SWFA is in control on this one, just like they did with the super sniper scopes. The guy to contact on this one is going to be the vp of marketing and the guy heading the xotic project. His names is chris and you can email him at

[email protected]

Sorry i havent been able to get more info. The one thing i know is that this dood's a pain in the ass to get on the phone.

I read a recent review of one of these and the owner was very impressed with how bright and clear the scope was.

Rumor is it is made by the HAKKO people, specifically to meet the new requirements of the new USMC sniper scope specification.

Looks at first blush like a decent optic. :)

With high power scopes... 25X and larger (generally)... you really need ALOT of light transmition and clarity... larger objectives help out alot when you have a 40X scope and your shooting at a target over 1,500 yards away. Granted... i dont see why any SWAT sharp shooter would need anything like that... there average shot is across a street or so... about 60-70 yards on average. Sure... some smaller obj's have great light transmition... but there generally only 10X or around there... USO has optional extreme high resolution lenses... these work great too.

If you ever get a high power scope with a 40mm objective or so... zoom it in all the way up to 25X or so and try looking at somthing about 800 to 1,000 yards away... it looks fuzzy no matter how hard to try and focus it. (with the majority of scopes). High resolution... oversized objective lenses are for ELR (extreme long range) shooting... they wont help you at all if your target is close (under 600 yards or so). This has been my experiance with many different scopes...

uhmmmmmmmmm........been looking at it on swfa's web site for some time. I hope we do get some good reviews about it. If swfa does what it what they did with the SS then it may vary well turn out nice.

As far as the large ob. they are nice. I had a very old tasco euro class scope that was a 3x12x56 (maybe 54, don't remember) I may catch some **** for this but it was as every bit as good as my lupolds. The large objective really really helps. BC is right on the money.

Hello
There was a two pape add in Shotgun News, volume 59 issue 3. It had all the spec on this scope and say that SWFA is the exclusive distributer for them, also has a price of $799.95 for the 4-16x56mm. Looks real nice and if it as good as the advertisment say it will be a winner.

Free mil dot master with purchase...cool :)

Probably was a good scope, Caver...Tasco ownership changed hands a bunch I think, goint to Trashco, then back to Tasco, and Trashco once more lol.

Lots of cool new stuff I'm reading about now though, that I hadn't seen before...These guys, Sightron, IOR...

Hmm...Kinda funny how the name XOTIC is so closely related to SOTIC in my head lol...Subliminal stuff. Every time I see it I just think SOTIC

ok just for the FYI type, the xotic IS going to have all that friggin writing all over it. bleh.......

Apparently they've fixed the problem with the windage knob. There was some play in one scope that was purchased from them in the windage knob. Apparently that issue has been remedied. Mel still needs to do a review...... I've got my eyes set on one but I'd prefer one WITHOUT the damn white markings all over it.
