Well ok I am new to the site but not shooting and I am wanting to build an ELR rifle and get back into it, I was at 1200y when I had my .338 LM how ever that rifle was stolen. I want my mile shot and then some, so I am playing with the idea of building a custom ELR rifle. I am torn between the 375 or the 408 Cheytac both with 2000k plus yards effective, plus the wow factor.
I am a self-taught ELR shooter and re-loader, I was pretty good at hand loads for my 338 and had a good load working up for the 338, I am wanting opinions on the calibers I have mentioned and the pros and cons as I have never used these boom sticks. I live in AZ so plenty of open desert to play in so distance is not an issue. Also any advice on the barrel, action, and stock I will be going Vortex for optics so I got that covered. Anyway, any advice and comments are welcome. Have a good one y'all.
