Hi,
I have had some good results with my SPS tactical with some fairly crappy ammo. I am now at the point where I need to try some better stuff. I have read a lot and searched a lot more and know that for 1:9 twists you can go up to 70 grain on a 223. I went into the gunshop today and fondled some 69 grainers - but also saw the 77 grainers....
This got me thinking: has anyone tried 77 grain projectiles out of an SPS tactical? I know this is against the "rule", but surely what may have been developed for an assault rifle with a 16" barrel say, might be different when faced with a 20" barrel? They cost NZ$39 a box (about $31US), so not keen to put the money down if they definitely will follow the rule.
Any experience will be appreciated as usual.
Greg
