Hey Guys,
Just taking some time to post my new baby. A 338 Lapua Ackley Improved built by Surgeon Rifles then sent to Chris Mathews of Longshot rifles for the Ackley Reaming of the barrel. The rifle is a repeater and has a mcmillan A5 in a custom color as well as barrel and action in Sniper Grey. I have a 8-32x56 posi stop Nightforce NXS for a scope. I have only had a few rounds through it, but it should perform very well 1/4-3/8moa. The recoil is somewhat brisk. Once I finish firing all my factory ammo and handload some SMK 300g and some extra Retumbo, this should be out of sight. Do any of you know where to get affordable brass? Any opinions on my decision? TIA.

Keep an eye on gunbroker i found 500 once fired 300 win mag Federal for $70 then a guy at the range was getting a divorce and liquidating so i got a nother 200 or so unfired for $30. but then again thats not 338

And by the way your avatar had me confused. I thought it was part of the post for a minute and i thought you were trying to pass that as a group from a 338.

I have shot it out to 800 and 1000 yards at my buddy's range with the 250gr smk sliders on stock loads and brass. I am going to reload with retumbo and 300gr smk at approx 2900fps for optimum bc. With this rifle just being broke in and it shooting as beautifully as she does, the reload ammo should be a hoot. Oh, my barrel is a 32" not the standard 28. My buddy has a 2000+ yard target range as well. We do shooting with various toys out to and past that range. It is actually 2430 yards to the backstop. Wish me luck... Thanks for your kind words.
