mounting scope on Colt 6920..(flat top)???

I'm going to mount a basic 3-9 for a whilt until I get a tactial red dot for it. Buy looks of it, Just seems very low profile....with basic rings I have...Are there special rings to raise it up a bit or is it normal to be so low?? What is preferred method is any to a good setup?

I use a B-square/Colt one piece type mount, one inch rings for my flat-tops. It makes a scope high, but is comfortable to shoot, considering an AR 15's structure. Colt must have thought the mount suitable, they put their name on it.

Use the irons. That's a fighting gun. 3x is too much for a fighting gun. Besides, the price of quality mounts/rings for your scope could be put toward a red-dot sight.
