The A-191 has been used by Naval Special Ops for a while now, and now even Marine Special Ops are getting them. The throat is extra long and uses custom made A-191 ammo, kills over 1,400 yards have been recorded in Afghanistan with this rifle and ammo.

Im curious what this rifle is made of, who makes it, and if its possible for a civilian such as myself to buy one. :)

Well i did some digging, i found out that the A-191 rifle is made by the Naval Weapons Statione - Crane, and real A-191's are only found in the Navy and USMC. Although, i was told that GA Precision could make me an exact replica with NSN # and all. :)

This is the Small Arms page of Crane Naval Weapons Station

http://www.crane.navy.mil/whatwedo/smallarms.asp

As you can see it doesnt show or tell much...

This is the only decent picture i can find of a real A-191 rifle. It looks like a .308 not a .300 Win Mag to me, but the caption from the website said it was an A-191.

A-191 in Snipers hands.
