Picked up my new Tango 51 last night. :D Mikes platforms are the best on this planet. The attention to detail is unbelievable. The group mike shot was .100!!!!!!!(3 shots at 100yrds) For what Mike charges, these rifles are a value. The amount of work that went into my Tango 51 was way beyond what Mike charges, and Tac-Ops customer service is hands down the best of any buisness I have ever encountered. If your thinking about buying a new rifle, give Mike a call first. Trust me, you will NOT regret it.

Mike,

Thanks again Mike for taking the time to build my Tango. When ever you get a chance, just shoot me a quote for the next platform that we spoke about and I'll get you the cash. Take care, I'll speak to you soon.

I am going to put some money down in a week to get the ball rolling on a tac ops rifle since it will take atleast 12 months to make. I was leaning towards the X-ray but Mike told me to consider the Lima. I havent held the A5 or the A4 stock but I like the look of the A5 more but I am wondering if the A4 would be a better rifle. Mike talked me into a nightforce scope and rcommends the A4(Lima) stock and I was wondering if anyone who has had experience with these stocks could give me some opinions. thanks

I love my A-5 but I also dig on the A-4 talk to Mike some more ;)

If I only had the 12 months to wait.
I would rather wait 12 to 18 months for a Tac Ops then get anything else.

Mr.Miller care to step in for a moment and share your professional opinion ?

Gah the wait is killing me! Can't wait until mine comes in. Mike is building me a titanium 338 suppressor too which I can't wait to get my hands on. If I end up living in a cardboard box it will be because of Mike :D

Boss, just saw this. Sure I will say what I think.

Little back ground on me. 25 years LE most of which either a sniper or sniper instructor. Most of that time High Power Shooter and did pretty well shooting in National and International comps. My opinions are based on hundreds of thousands of match ammo down range not a BS lay on the ground couple of days school or shooting off one range while we pat each other on the back and say how great we are. The lessons learned were hard learned.

I have shot alot of different rifles. I mean alot and many of the best known custom brands on the market. My opinion on Tacops has pissed some off and I have been attacked for it multiple times but I could give a rats rump. The truth is the truth. Besides Neal Morris said it before me and his credentials are slightly better than most EXPERTS.

Out of box accuracy with factory ammunition Tacops has won hands down

Fit and finish Tacops wins hands down with attention to detail I have not seen anywhere else except a Holland and Holland work of art that costs 25 times as much.

Now about the wait. It takes time to do all this and oversee it all yourself. He takes every rifle out and certifies it shoots sub .25 moa before shipping. Most do nothing like that. Here you get what you pay for.

I own one TacOps rifle and paid dearly for it but it was worth every penny. My only regret is it does not have a detachable magazine assemby so I would be at huge disadvantage to use inTactical Rifle ( most have stages where you will shoot 10-20 rds rapidly and much sloer to do with fixed magazine) Comps and its to damm nice to change anything on it. I guess I will just continue to use it for teaching LE Snipers, which is exactly what it was designed for.

My other favorite sniper rifle is my AJ Brown built 20" in 308. It shoots like the Tacops but was finished as a field grade rifle. I love this rifle and beat it to death almost daily. Its the only rifle I have had come close to Tacops and only lacks in finish department. AJ built this rifle for me to beat up.

I have not tried a full build from our Louisiana Gunsmith William but will be giving him a try soon. I have parts on the wya to him.

Now lastly I dont recommend looking at Tactical Rifle Comps for ideas building a sniper rifle. That would be like buying an IPSC Pistol for duty use. Comps dont show you whats needed in field they show you whats needed to win the game. Look at SEB and see what they use. You will get a good idea of a sniper rifle.

Miller this is what I found on the Tac Ops web site about Neil Morris and Mike's Masterpieces.

Neil Morris: The entire spectrum of weapons and equipment has improved. The example would be the Tango 51S that we used during the LASD SEB course. Students (with Tango 51S) were actually able to engage moving targets from the unsupported kneeling position with the same accuracy as shooters that were firing unsuppressed weapons in the supported prone. That was a major breakthrough. The quality of the weapon and the accuracy spoke for themselves. It was an amazing thing for me to watch brand new students being able to shoot moving targets from the sitting or the kneeling as well as other snipers shooting from the supported prone.
I've used Mike Rescigno's (Tactical Operations, Inc.) Tango 51 with exacting point-of-aim, point-of-impact results out to 500 yards shooting Federal Gold Medal 168-grain HPBT and a wide range of other ammunition and, unless you were right beside me, you'd never hear the shot.
here is a photo i found. 8)

Neil Morris left, Mike R of Tac Ops Center and Tommy Lambrecht 26 years SEB long rifle expert right. Heli pilot far right
