I have owned one of these rifles for about 11 years. When I purchased the rifle it did not have a magazine. One day I was looking through Shotgun News and there was an ad from The Gun Parts Corporation selling the magazines for this rifle. I purchased about four of them and soon found out that not one of them feed reliably in my rifle. Several years ago I sold three on Ebay for a small profit and kept one for my rifle. The only way they would remotely work is if I pushed up on the floor plate while cycling the action. Not exactly my idea of fun. These are quite accurate rifles. But you need to get accustomed to their long trigger pull. I sent a message to the person I sold the magazines. Hopefully he may have one left. I will let you know if he responds.

 

They are defiantly shooters i have had two one that was in bad shape with out a mag i scraped it out and gave the parts to my neighbor as I new he had one upon giving him these spare parts he showed me the 4 or 5 spare mags he had these are quite difficult to source at the bottom of the world.
One model of Toz 17's uses a brown plastic type mag that is different to the steel type these are not to be confused with the current model Toz 78 / Winchester wildcat mags I currently own this model and it is my favorite .22.

So after a lot of serching and finding nothing im seriously considering making a batch of these magazines .

Do you get asked alot or see a demand for this particular mag and if I made some would you be interested in buying some?
What size? 5 or 10 shot
how many people have these .22's

Any ideas/ comments appreciated.

just got to justify the start off expense with demand and do a proper job
and get a metal press shop to make some dies

I realize this is an old post, but I just pick up a TDZ-17-01 USSR sniper training rifle,...no mags. I went to my local Gun Shop and looked through a box of mags.. found 3.. all are factory Baikal .22 lr mags.. they work great..
