Thinking of getting one, they go about $150

Anybody here played with one yet?

If there are any mainstream names going for a similar price, then I'd head that way.

Obviously I'd say go with an Anschutz if you can get one at the right price. They have some great hunters

As for the Tula - if the price is right...and it can take Anschutz accessories, then it's a different matter. It's the add ons that make a price worth while - and not the initial rifle cost.

Hard to beat for the price I have the current bolt and semi.I had the barrel cut back 16 inches and threaded only took it to the range to sight it in put 20 shots into a inch and a half at 75m I wasn't really trying for groups it comes with 4 mags 2 10s 2 5s they are plastic but function well its easy to strip and clean it has double return springs I have found it cycles subs of various brands better than my and friends 10/22s it has a unadjustable trigger set at 3 pounds over all it a good no frills rifle my toz 78 bolt has it beat though.

Yes I'm thinking of a tight little plinker. I don't think this would be my choice for target rimfire. Tula isn't really mainstream, but they do know how to build guns. I'm concerned about parts. I read an unconfirmed report of sear breakage when using high-velocity .22 LR ammo.

Well lately a few of you have been calling out my rimfire jones. At the moment my only rimfire weapons are a 10/22 and a ruger pistola.

I dig the Brno ZKM .22 WMR and .17 HMR, looks like the HMR is going for around $1500 now. The .22 mag is usually around $800.

I like scoped semi-auto .22 LR's, I bet I'd love a magnum rimfire. I can picture one set-up with a nice little zeiss 4x.

I like this Tula, and I think it seems well adquate to it's task. Some question regarding HV ammo, but I'd expect it to work well with standard loads.

I'm just thinking:
$150 on Tula .22 LR, $800 on a .22 WMR, or $1500 on a .17HMR?

someone told me savage makes a nice sa rimfire rifle

I can't stand mag rimfire. Stuff just isn't accurate. You want small and fast you go for the .17hmr.

Accurate .22 needs to be subsonic, as it can't hold the velocity over distance, and it is the in flight change from super to sub that causes issue.

If you use supersonic, make sure it hits the target supersonic.

Maybe it's not so important for varminters or plinking, but for putting a .22 in the same hole over and over, it is subsonic all the way.

My Annie has a 2 thou choke along the whole barrel length designed to reduce velocity of some of the subsonic rounds that are border line. For me, 1052fps in a 24" barrel is perfect.

Ive run two bricks of CCI mini mags through mine thats high velocity with no probs with the sear. I also tried a huge selection of ammo mainly subs with no problems the only ammo that failed to feed was Aqulia super high velocity .I have no experience with the factory sights as I shortened the barrel and removed the rear sight to fit the cheap 4 power scope which is a shame because they looked good and simple to use.I plan on giving it a skim bed and putting a better scope on it in the near future the best thing about owning a bolt action and semi auto Toz is the fact the mags are all interchangeable and I have 8.

The Tula Arms plant should know how to make reliable robust weapons it was founded in 1712 by Peter the Great.

I also have a marlin 17V it shoots great but the magazine design is crud and is frequently giving me grief I agree that the cost of HMR ammo makes me shot it much less than any of my .22s I also had a Lakefield (Savage MK11) pre accutrigger I would say the Toz 99 is as or more accurate.

Yeah I must ask my smith/dealer about a VSS sniper rifle or one of those underwater assault rifles lol at least when you get stuff from Russia you don't have to deal with the State Department and I am pretty sure they sell to anybody.

Taylorism my friend, I thought I convinced you of the CZs??? What Happened????? Nah the Toz should be a good little rifle, I just prefer the overall finish of the CZs, especially the open sighted versions, they are more expensive but, they really do have the European finish and quality.

Ceska Zbrovjka!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ohh well, there is also the CZ 511 semi auto if you could find one. They are a decent semi-auto im told. Have a look on www.rimfirecentral.com and you will find tons of info on the CZs and Toz's.

Yes I'll go Czech whenever possible. It's a matter of funding at the moment.
My wife wants a new pistola. I'm scrimping every dime to raise scope money. I needed a machinist to work on a part for my vz.33 project (sold a part)
I need a rangefinder
I need more shotshells (that's got a grip on me now)
I need another semi-auto rimfire rifle (be nice to get a Czech)
I need many BP's of .308
I need reloading supplies, it's time I set that up
I need an action for an exhibition-grade rollover sporter stock I came across

Mate, dont ya hate it when you soo many projects and not enough time or cash??? Its a really bummer. My advice, grab the pistol for the wife first, more brandy points!!!!! Then you can play with your toys more.

Ah yes well ... the first two are my scope and her pistol. Not sure which to do first. I kinda want to get that scope issue put to bed first, this is ridiculous, look how long I've dragged that project out.

Hello,

I am looking for the magazines and firing pins for my Tula TOZ-99 semi-auto rimfire rifle. However, it's very hard to find these parts online and at dealers.

I saw this old thread discussing about this rifle. Do you know anywhere I could have a chance to find those parts? I would really appreciate it.

Thank you
