The PST Gen II has better features and the SIII it's lighter, but which of the two has better optical quality?
Thanks.

I am speaking out of the experience. Sightron products have not hold up for me and my guys. I am not that crazy about PST lines either, but if you are comparing, PST would perform little better.

To my eyes, I liked the PST glass little better. It looked clearer than Sightron. Problems we ran into were with the turrets. As round counts accumulate, zero started to wonder around. Same for both models only Sightron was worse. Both company has an excellent customer service, but I rather not have to return them constantly for repair.

PST Gen 2 is a new product which I have not even contact with, but after what we've been through, we are giving XTR2 tries for budget builds for last year or so. XTR2 has not failed, yet. Definitely a better choice over PST or SIII.

I prefer the Sightron with its 4 inches of eye relief for hunting in mountain country. I have used Sightrons for a long while and have not found fault with the tracking of their turrets at all. Some of the PST scopes on the other hand are often found to have issues with turrets calibrated wrong and that is a no no. (not the 1/4 moa you thought it to be). My son had the reticle fail in his new Vortex scope and as he was about to go on a long planned hunt, took it back to the dealer and bought a decent Zeiss scope with which he is happy. Certainly thei Vortex warranty will fix that kind of thing, but I far prefer quality control rather than give defective scopes to the market place.
