Any good bad or ugly to say about any of the Lazzeroni calibers. Like the .308 Warbird or.257 scramjet? Just curious.

No experience with em what so ever.

I bet if you really wanted the flattest shooting rifle you could have though, those would do it!

Of course I never saw their stats on gobbling up barrels either

i think that the lazzeroni name in general (rifles and cartridges) deals mainly with hunting. and they are supposed to be some flat shooting ones at that. i have a magazine article about a savage lazzeroni in 7.21 tomahawk, and it shot pretty well (about .7 at 100). the same article also describes a lazzeroni rifle that the used to fire a 7.1 inch group at 1000 yards. it was in a 6.5mm Phantom. these seem to be good rifles, but they are a bit pricey (i think around 4500 bucks). i have also heard that the recoil that some of these cartridges generate is pretty heavy. i think the main downside is the price. the rifle and ammo costs a good deal.

The Warbird (30 cal) and the 257 Scramjet resemble the following:
.30-378 Weatherby and the .257 STW. I agree with schmitty - pricey and no muzzle break does translate into heavy recoil on the Warbird. Factory ammo is very expensive and brass, although it is crap, is available for about $3.50 per case. Weatherby is under $2 and 7mm STW or 8mm Rem Mag Brass is way less than that. Lazzeroni did make a large investment in components, so getting it from them won't be too hard.

When you say just curious, are you thinking of buying one? A Weatherby in .30-378 or a rebarrel on a Model 70 or 700 for the .257 STW will be a much better route.

Hope this helps.
