So I just worked a deal with a guy to get a Rem 7400. I know not a great gun but that is what he had to trade. It is in a 30-06. I want to use it to replace borrowing my brothers Rem 700 in a 30-06. Going to use it to kill whitetail at 100-300 yd range. Again I know it's not the ideal for that but what I have. I want to beef this thing up a little. I found a nice quad rail forend I'm going to save up for.

I live in NYS so I have to be careful with what I do to this gun. I can't use any stocks with a pistol grip or buffer tube design. I have read that the stock is really just a Rem 870 stock. I would really like a deep well "gooseneck" style stock like Promag makes but I can't find any for the 870. Ideally I would like one that adjusts in length via a jack screw so it can be changed easily in the field. The best I can find is this magpul. Does anyone know of anything better that is NYS compliant?
Lastly I would like to put a muzzle brake on it. Yes they are NYS legal as long as they do not screw onto the barrel. Does anyone know of any for this gun that clamp, weld, or attach via other means?
Should have the rifle in a week or two. I'm just trying to put together a build plan for it. Thanks for the ideas.
